Turn Off The Oven And Learn To Cook On The Grill
Learning how to cook outdoors can be incredibly rewarding; the food tastes great, it creates an atmosphere of friends and family, and you can easily be intoxicated with the smell of roasting meat over an open fire pit. Instead of heating up the kitchen in the middle of summer, you can step outdoors and enjoy the sunlight while the kids play in the pool or you can invite your neighbors and family over for a backyard barbeque party that is sure to be the talk of everyone. Nothing attracts folks like the smell of a barbeque, and you can soon find yourself swamped with neighbors you did not even know you had!
Barbequing is not as daunting as it may look for the first outdoor grilling person: you simply need a grill, be it propane or charcoal (the type of grill that is right for you depends on a lot of factors). You can even try your hand at grilling by doing things the old fashioned way by building a fire and roasting your meat over a spit, or on a clean rock. If you are using wood or charcoal you want to make sure both are nice and ashy with a red glow and that the flames have died down a bit. A slow roast will make sure your meat is cooked through verses a high fire, which will burn your meat and is likely to leave the insides raw.
There are a lot of grilling recipes available but some of the best grilled food is simply cooked. Just add garlic and salt to your meat and slow cook it, be it chicken wings, breasts or burgers, it will all taste incredible when it comes off the grill. Step out of the kitchen, and give the grill a whirl!
